First Crush is a blog about my adventures in commercial winemaking.
I am a young, California-based writer, taking a chance on a couple of vines and throwing myself headfirst into an industry dominated by older, wealthier people. I hope to shake things up and make a place for my brand in the romantic, complex, cutthroat, critical, delicious, magnificent world of wine.
As in all love affairs, I expect there will be some drama, some debate, and some despair, much excitement, and an occasional lack of commitment. But above all–and through it all–I expect this will be a learning experience, so I invite you to follow along, share your thoughts, and maybe even share a bottle at the end.
